Book Cover Reveal!

Writing a Trilogy is hard. Very hard. Sorting out book covers, marketing, publishing and editing is possibly even… harder? It sure as hell feels like it. And for the love of all things made of peanut butter, I never want to see another adverb again.

But moving on…

I have a book cover to reveal!

If some of you don’t know, I’m currently writing a fantasy/romance trilogy with the hope of self-publishing. The trilogy itself is paranormal verging on urban fantasy (who knows these days right? Perhaps it’s both) for young/new adult readers.

From a marketing perspective, I’ve decided I will have the second and third books in draft form before I publish the first. Don’t want to leave my readers hanging out for a sequel that never comes!

The title: Royal Blood (first book in the Blood War Series)

The cover:

1

This design is a pre-made (unique) cover I picked up from The Cover Collection. If you are on a budget, I highly recommend you check them out. They also do bespoke designs if you’re willing to pay a little more and book in advance.

All my book covers so far have been sourced from The Cover Collection and I have only ever had a wonderful experience with them.

I will keep you posted on a release date, let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later!

  1. Great looking cover Milly. I just finished the first draft of “Blue Cottage”. Actually I finished it in July and I’m still not really up to tackling draft 2. Life got in the way, so I know exactly how you feel. Pat yourself on the back. Keep this blog – it might help you when it comes time to write a sixty-word blurb for the back cover. I know I want to read it (the book).

  2. Eye-catching cover! The picture suggests paranormal fantasy and the font used for ‘royal’ a slightly more light-hearted romance aspect.

Trying to decide what genre classifications to use is always a pain – I am still never sure if I should be labelling mine as YA (because YA protagonists, coming of age, suitable content etc) or general (because suitable for all ages and not narrowed to the YA perspective only). The joys of self-publishing!
