Yeah, you’re probably just as surprised as me. I have no clue how I got here, but all I can say is how much I f—ing love you guys.
I’m not usually the type of person to write these kinds of posts (I feel like it’s very much ‘kimmy, look atme, look atme’), but I felt like you all deserved to know how much I appreciate you. I read EVERY single comment with a smile and I notice every like and follow.
Me, every morning when I check my blog. It’s literally the first thing I do.
I love nothing more than checking out the people who leave a trail of blazing impressions across my blog. There really is nothing more exciting than clicking on the screen name of a new follower and wondering what lies beneath. Are they a moon beam chasing poet or a romance seeking writer? What are they passionate about? What makes them smile?
The lucky mug who officially ticked me over to 5,000 is Blue at The girl and Death, which is kinda appropriate considering I wrote a short story (and posted it to my blog) about a girl who falls in love with Death.
I also wanted to spotlight the bloggers who have last liked, commented and followed my blog. Because you guys are the ones who deserve all the credit.
First up is Mackenzie over at Life with an Illness who recently liked my post Here, Bot, Bot, Bot. Mackenzie is such a champion for people with a chronic illness, and I love her positive attitude and honest posts that dig deep into what life is like living with a number of illnesses. So much love to her.
The last blogger to follow me was Girl with the Paw Print Tattoo, who also, like Mackenzie, suffers from anxiety and depression (as well as vaginismus). I love her tagline: You are enough! She is so utterly inspiring, and I think it’s really important for people to be talking about anxiety and depression to remove the shame and stigma and instead replace it with hope and love.
The last comment left on my blog was by Much ado about Little women, who left a lovely little note on my about page:
Wow I’m from New England in Australia too! (Well, born there, even if no longer living there… ;)) Lovely to meet another fellow Aussie writer =D
It’s always exciting to meet a fellow Aussie New Englander, especially considering I was born in the New England too! Also, the 1994 adaption of Little Women is one of my favourite movies of all time. My sisters and I loved picking which characters we were most like. Apparently I was a blend of Jo (for my wild imagination, whingeing and love of adventure) and Beth (because I was always the one left behind and loved mothering my younger sister).
Lastly, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for following my blog. I really don’t deserve you guys, but I’m super hyped to have you around and can’t wait to continue stalking you all!
A few other bloggers have also recently hit the 5k mark and blogged about it: Emily Clare Beauty and Sara in LaLaLand.
Author Lynette Noni also recently blogged about reaching 10,000 followers – I can’t even imagine having that many!!
Once again, thank you!!
And I love you!!
Milly Out
